Biography
A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, where she completed her doctoral studies in 2021 and earned a master’s degree in printmaking in 2014. She also studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp as part of the Erasmus program and at the University of Silesia, where she majored in art history.
Hanna Rozpara’s body of work encompasses painting, printmaking, photography, graphic design, and musical composition. In her most recent works, the artist addresses the themes of camouflage, formlessness, and chaotic phenomena, situating them in a variety of contexts—from cosmological and alchemical to natural. In her earlier works, she explored themes of nothingness, suffering, war, and death, imbuing them with both philosophical and existential dimensions.
The artist’s body of work includes 34 solo exhibitions and participation in over 200 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including in Serbia, South Korea, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Hanna Rozpara is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Utazu Art Award at the U-Plaza Biennale (Utazu, Japan, 2022) and the Show Off award at Kraków Photomonth (2022). She has participated three times in the JOYA AiR: Arte + ecologia artist residency in Vélez-Blanco, Spain (2020, 2023, 2024). Their work has been supported on numerous occasions by grants and artistic awards, both national and international.
