Bożenna Biskupska (b. 1952, Warsaw), "Delineating Image 01", 2001.

Biography
The sculptor studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznań in 1970-72 and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1972-76. She received her diploma with honors in the studio of Prof. Tadeusz Dominik in 1976. At the Fourth International Biennale of Miniature Weaving at the Savaria Museum in Szhombathely, Hungary, in 1982, she won first prize. In 1984 she received a two-year scholarship from the Minister of Culture and Art, and in 1986 she received the Stanisław Wyspiański First Degree Award for painting and sculpture. She represented Poland at the XLI Art Biennale in Venice in 1984 and at the 14th International Biennial of Small Sculptures in Bronze in Padua. In 2004, together with Zygmunt Rytka, she founded the "In Situ" Foundation for Contemporary Art, operating mainly in Warsaw and Sokolowsk. Biskupska's artistic output reflects the path of her formal explorations, from figurative art, abstraction to the creation of an individual language of artistic expression. The artist experiments by combining, among other things, painting and performance, and with sculptural and painting matter using, among other things, concrete, marble flour, negative film or linseed oil.
