The painter, sculptor and lithographer Allen Jones is one of the most important representatives of British Pop Art. He lives and works in London. Jackson Pollock's free style of painting made a lasting impression on him and led him to rethink his own work. In doing so, he connected with the emerging British Pop Art movement, of which he was one of the first protagonists. His art is provocative and seeks to break down existing boundaries; he has no interest in the cerebral approaches of Abstract Expressionism, but calls for a common art.
