Painter and sculptor active in Paris, son of the famous 19th century French sculptor, Didier Debut. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris with Henri Chapu (sculpture) and with Jules Lefebre (painting). As a painter, he created landscapes and genre scenes, while in sculpture his favorite subject was allegorical groups ("Amour maternel," Pasteur Institute in Paris, 1895). Debut was also involved in small-scale fine art (he designed for Sévres, among others) and medal making.
