Zbigniew Bury
Graduated from the Textile Technical School in Andrychów, with a specialization in spinning technician, 1991; also studied for a year at the Private School of Visual Arts in Bielsko-Biała, 1993.
Together with the artist Piotr Jargusz, he founded the art group "Studio TU," 1996. He is also a member of the NADSKAWIE Art Group, which operates at the Wadowice Land Lovers Society and the Kazimierska Konfraternia Sztuki - Art Colony in Kazimierz Dolny.
He participated in the art fair "Kunst Findet Kunst", Munich, 1997, where he presented works devoted to the problem of freedom in post-communist countries.
He participated in the international meeting of artists, Isny, 2002, the purpose of which was to select an art project dedicated to the theme of unity of nations. His project won the greatest recognition and was realized under the name " Red Line Art - European Art. Project 2002".
Awarded the Silver Medal of the Society "Labor Omnia Vincit", 2009; the badge "Meritorious for Polish Culture" awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, 2013.
He received the Diploma of Honor of the National Academy of Art of Ukraine in Kyiv for lifetime achievement, 2020.
He has participated in more than 40 solo exhibitions (including at the BWA Gallery in Sandomierz and the BWA Gallery in Bielsko-Biała) and 30 group exhibitions in Poland, the Netherlands, Germany and Ukraine.
His works are in the collection of the Palace of Art in Lviv.
He works interdisciplinarily, practicing painting, ceramics and sculpture. Since 2008 he has been creating caricature works under the pseudonym Alex Johanson. He lives and works in Roczyny.
