Important religious lidded goblet 1854
Ciborium, Germany, c. 1853, hallmarked silver, gilt interior, above a round foot with friezes of pearls, vine leaves and heart leaves, mounted figural shaft depicting Mary with the Lamb of God, applied palmette frieze below the cupola, four medallions in relief with images of the Virgin Mary between six images of angels, the domed lid with a knob with a kneeling, winged angel. Inscribed on the lid with a psaltery and on the base with a dedication and remembrance of the parish priest Anton Werner Nourney (1762-1834), "Elberfeld April 21, 1854".
