Biography:
Born May 6, 1896 in Lviv, died August 20, 1986 in Riverdale, New York

Polish painter of Jewish origin, active in the École de Paris milieu in the 1920s and 1930s; active in the United States since 1935; representative of the expressive Colorist trend.

Studied at the Lviv Industrial School, then at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts. He also studied in the studio of Alexander Archipenko in Berlin. In 1923 he went to Paris, where he entered the circle of painters of the Ecole de Paris. He exhibited at the Paris Salons: Autumn, Independent, Tuileries. He was associated with artistic life in Poland. He belonged to the New Generation grouping, was a member of the Zwornik Association of Artists. He painted landscapes, figural compositions, nudes, portraits, still lifes and scenes of Jewish life. In addition to oil painting, he also created gouaches, watercolors and drawings.
