The influence of the landscape school of Jan Stanislawski is perfectly evident in the presented painting. The richness of the color palette used, sensitivity to the beauty of nature, bold brushstrokes give the work a strong artistic expression. From the picture, which is devoid of staffage, the sunflower stalk comes to the fore and, for contrast - leafless, dry branches. The autumn landscape with the sky burning from the setting sun is a pleasant to the eye, expressive composition. It was created during World War I. Filipkiewicz fought in the ranks of the Legions during it.
