The drawing comes from the artist's sketchbook dated '81. 20/6'. The sketchbook was filled with the artist's drawings during his studies in Vienna with Has Makart (1880-1884).

Biography
Studied at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1874-80, then from 1880 to 1884 in Vienna under Hans Makart. He continued his studies in 1885-8 in the studio of Jan Matejko. He painted portraits, landscapes, genre and religious scenes. In 1892 he designed a curtain for the Municipal Theater in Cracow, and in 1896 he was one of the authors of Panorama of the Tatra Mountains. He exhibited at TPST in Krakow, TZSP in Warsaw and TPSP in Lviv. He also had exhibitions in Vienna, Berlin and Paris.
