Biography
Graduate of the Art Institute in Cieszyn, Poland. Her early work as a painter was inspired by the cities she lived in: Bytom, Cracow, New York and Stockholm. She portrayed people, often completely unknown to her, capturing the atmosphere of a particular place and moment. Man continues to appear as one of the motifs of her works. She shows him as an actor caught up in conventions, the theater of life, the products of human culture and collectivity. Contrast, however, are her works that show the individual in an intimate world, where the line between reality and fairytale begins to blur, and the representations become metaphors of sorts. She enjoys painting fairy tales and in her spare time she does illustrations for children. She has participated in exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including Nest Gallery in Geneva (2013), Useum in London (2012) and the National Museum in Kielce.
