1988 1-cent coin featuring Abraham Lincoln, part of the long-running Lincoln Cent series, which began in 1909.
The piece shown here is a striking “OFF CENTER” mint error. At the time of striking, the blank was misaligned relative to the dies, resulting in the coin being struck 45% off-center, with a significant portion of the surface remaining unpatterned.
This piece is certified by NGC as a MINT ERROR and graded to the high grade of MS 65 RD.
A very striking and clearly visible mint error, making it an interesting addition for collectors of American Mint Error coins graded by NGC.
