Sigismund I, Groschen 1534, Danzig

A nicely minted well-liked Danzig penny.

Obverse: in the pearl rim crowned coat of arms of Gdańsk, in the outer rim a legend beginning with a rosette:
GROSSVS*CIVI*DANC3*1534;

Reverse: in the pearl rim a royal bust in armor and crown, to the right, in the outer rim a legend beginning with a rosette:
SIGIS*I*REX*PO*TO*TO*CI*PR;
