Type VIII (Ciura) bust.
The Ślepowron coat of arms (of Jan Kazimierz Krasiński—Grand Crown Treasurer), facing left, is divided by a circumferential inscription on the reverse.
On the reverse, on either side of the shield bearing the Snopek coat of arms (the coat of arms of the Vasa family), the letters A C – P T (the initials of Andrzej Tymf—leaseholder of the Lviv Mint—and Chrystian Pfahler—mint master of the Lviv Mint).
A variant with simple coat-of-arms shields.
An oval-shaped cartouche bearing the Vasa coat of arms. Above the cartouche is a trefoil.
A variant with an inscription featuring the king’s titulature IOAN GASIM … POL ET SVE in the rim on the obverse and … ARGEN SEX – REG PO … in the rim on the reverse—rare.
Error—the king’s title was struck as … GASIM … instead of … CASIM …—rare.
Condition: 2+/2
A flaw in the coin blank, but a beautifully struck and well-preserved piece. Beautiful detail. Luster and plenty of mint mirror finish. A rarer year of issue. A rare variety. … GASIM … instead of … CASIM …. In this condition, the coin is very rare and difficult to find on the collector’s market. A beautiful piece for specialized collections.
