A circulating example of this issue.
This thaler is one of the very interesting ones in the minting associated with Poland. This is due to the fact that in the electoral history of Poland, this is perhaps the first and last example when the son of the reigning monarch used the title of a Polish prince. Probably this was a reflection of the Saxons' desire to create a new strong dynasty in Poland, unfortunately this was put to an end by Frederick's death in the year this coin was struck - 1763.
Obverse: bust of Frederick in armor and cloak, to the right, in the rim the legend:
D:G:FRID:CHRIST:PR:R:POL:& L:DUX.SAX:;
Reverse: crowned nine-pronged shield of arms, below it initials -I-F-ô-F- of John Frederick o Feral, and inscription: X.EINE FEINE MARCK, surrounded by legend:
IUL:CL:MONT:A:& W:S:R:I:ARCHIM:& ELECTOR.1763;
