Paulina Minderska, Strange Postures IV, 2025
acrylic, mixed media on cotton canvas, 110 × 90 cm
In Paulina Minderska’s work, the human figure does not appear as a specific person, but rather as a shape, a gesture, and a trace of presence. The artist is interested in corporeality and the relationship between humans and the space surrounding them.
The work on display is part of a series that has become a personal form of therapy for the artist and a way to process her experience of grief. The starting point for these works were questions about the boundary between presence and absence, and what happens to the body after death. Here, the body ceases to be merely a representation of a human being; it becomes a form of memory, matter, and a trace of their existence.
In 2025, a solo exhibition titled “Strange Postures” took place at the Ta3 Gallery, Ta3 Artists’ House in Warsaw.
