Małgorzata Kosiec (born 1975). Graduated in 2000 with honors from the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. Scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Finalist in the International Young Art 2002 program of Sotheby's auction house. The mainstream of Małgorzata Kosiec's work are the so-called typographic portraits (called Typortraits). In them, the image is built up from multiple layers of letters and symbols, often using single words or sentences, and in the case of the Black Portraits series, William Blake's poetry. Of particular note in Kosiec's paintings is her original technique and excellent technique. The author refers to the tradition of the old masters, painting using the laser method, with great attention to detail and attention to detail as a result of which she achieves an ambiguous, multi-layered effect.
