Biography
Eugeniusz Brożek left for Silesia after finishing school, where he worked in mines and steel mills. After returning to Sędziszów in 1976, he worked in a boiler and railroad factory. He has been involved in painting since the 1980s. In 1984 he co-founded the group "Sędziwoje." Brozek painted mainly for himself, but in 1981 he showed his works to a wider audience for the first time, winning awards at exhibitions. He had been a member of the Association of Folk Artists since 1983. His paintings include rural, religious and fantasy themes, portraying the countryside of his childhood and traditions and rituals. His works are in many museums and galleries, including the National Museum in Kielce and ethnographic museums in Krakow, Warsaw, Torun and Poznan.
