Allegorical Composition: Woman Posing - 20th-Century European School

A painting created using mixed media on cardboard, depicting an allegorical composition centered on a posing female figure. The formal language evokes the stylistic elements of Art Brut and mid-20th-century European modernism. The central figure is surrounded by a complex series of symbolic and nautical motifs, including fish, small boats, a large eye in the upper left corner, and abstract shapes reminiscent of hands. The perspective is flattened, with dark, pronounced outlines defining the forms. The color palette is dominated by warm earth tones—ochre and terracotta—contrasted with various shades of blue and light blue. The application of paint is gestural and textural, with areas of visible impasto that lend relief to the surface. The work is unframed, revealing the natural edges of the support. There are no visible signatures or inscriptions on the front.
