The"Defender" is an evocative, symbolic composition that operates on the contrast of innocence and instinct. The figure of a child dressed in a black sheepskin takes on an almost ideological dimension here. The costume - soft, heavy, organic - evokes the archetype of the "sheep" as a sign of purity, sacrifice and social subordination. The reversed color scheme, however, introduces tension and suggests rebellion against imposed roles and an attempt to reclaim subjectivity. The girl is not a passive figure in need of care - she puts on an animal shell like armor. The sheep costume becomes a mask and a shield at the same time, emphasizing the fragility of childhood confronted with the need to mature. Juxtaposed with the presence of the wolf, a perverse play of symbols is created: the predator takes on the role of a guardian, and the "sheep" becomes a sign of strength and inner autonomy. The painting is distinguished by an atmospheric, dark color palette, subtle chiaroscuro and a refined painterly texture, building an atmosphere of silence and tension.
