Representative of a generation of painters debuting in the late 1970s just before the outbreak of the "Solidarity" social revolt, which caused a complete transformation of the hitherto prevailing cultural and political codes of the declining communist era. In this situation, the new, then debuting generation of painters sought to redefine the sources of inspiration for painting and to establish the possibility of expressing themselves through this medium in the face of rapid changes of historical significance. As it seems, the work of Andrzej Zwierzchowski is a particular example of this situation. This artist, preserving the fullness of his painting technique with all its attractiveness and exuberance - after all, he was a student of Jacek Sienicki - was able to refer by form, sign, color and gesture to the new social, political , cultural situation. Born in 1954 in Warsaw, Zwierzchowski is a graduate of Painting at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied in 1974-1979, graduating with Jacek Sienicki. He currently runs a painting and drawing studio at the Interior Design Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He is a full professor.

"Paintings made during the workshop entitled Hi Academy at the Academy Salon Gallery in 2013, describing the relationship of artistic creation in the context of the Academy of Fine Arts.
Image one, or "Almost Impossible Image," is a description of the discomfort of collaborative artistic work, which at the same time inspires.
Image two, is in correlation to image one, as a prelude to creative activities."
