Agula Swoboda -born in 1974 in Katowice, Poland. Graduate of the University of the West of England - Bower Ashton, Bristol; undergraduate diploma in the painting studio of Dr. Iain Biggs (1997) and Byam Shaw School of Art, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London; diploma in painting under Dr. Douglas Allsop in 1998. She has held fellowships from UWE University, Bristol, and Byam Shaw School of Art, London, as well as a one-year residency at the Lancaster Foundation, Undergrand Art Centre, Clitheroe, UK, 2004/2005. The originator of the "Incidents" international artist residencies carried out in Poland, the UK, the Czech Republic and Norway. Recipient of a regulatory distinction in the 40th Biennial of Painting "Bielska Jesień 2011", Bielska Galeria BWA, Bielsko-Biała; also a finalist in the 38th edition of the biennial (2007). Participant, among others: art fair Supermarket Art Fair 2013, Kulturhuset, Stockholm (Sweden, 2013); exhibition "2B in Bielsko-Biala. Double pleasure from Poland", Agija Sūna Art Gallery, Riga (Latvia, 2013); 2nd Triennial of Contemporary Painting "Autumn Confrontations", BWA Rzeszow (2010).
