"From today's perspective, he appears to be the most "French" of the remaining painters of the interwar period in Cracow. His work, unlike that of most of his colleagues of his generation, underwent dynamic changes. World War II was not some important caesura for him, and the dark, not only for art, times of socialist realism of the postwar years seemed not to concern him. Hrynkowski's work also lacks a period that could be called declining. The last ten years have been a time of constant exploration in painting and printmaking, when extremely colorful and interesting paintings were created."
