Joanna Szumska, born in 1965 in Otwock, is a Polish painter whose work focuses on the harmony between man and nature and the power of femininity. She graduated from the State High School of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1985, after which she worked in the set design studio of the Baj Theater. She then worked in graphic and interior design, but painting remained her most important means of expression.
In her work, Szumska draws inspiration from nature, music, poetry and urban hustle and bustle. Her paintings, created in oil and acrylic techniques, balance between landscape, organic abstraction and figurative forms. The artist emphasizes that the creative process is a journey for her, where colors lead to the final form of the work.
