According to Bozena Kowalska: "During the first five years of his painting activity, [Sapetto], in accordance with the assumptions of the new figuration, manifested a kind of disinclination towards all principles of aestheticism. He operated with harsh, expressive color contrasts and sketchiness with intended effects of nonchalance and chaoticness in compositional arrangements. Expressive eloquence worked here in a direct way." In the later period, the artist's art becomes less aggressive and more reflective - the compositions are orderly, restrained, clear, sometimes even striking in their conciseness. In addition to accusations against modernity, there is compassion for a man lonely in the surrounding world, in addition to the sometimes blunt satire on reality - a joke.
