" Maria Orłowska-Gabryś (b. 1925, d. 1988) – Polish illustrator and graphic artist. She graduated from the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków.

She created illustrations for over a hundred books, including: *“Bajarka opowiada”* by Maria Niklewiczowa, *“Czarna owieczka”* by Jan Grabowski, *“Chłopcy z Placu Broni”* by Ferenc Molnár, “Master Lepiglina’s Kichuś” by Janina Porazińska, “The Kingdom of Fairy Tales” by Ewa Szelburg-Zarembina, Edith Nesbit’s fantasy-adventure series (“Five Children and It,” “The Phoenix and the Carpet,” “The Story of the Amulet”), Maria Kownacka’s *Ogródek*, Maria Konopnicka’s *The School Adventures of Pimpuś Sadełko*, as well as Astrid Lindgren’s novels—*Mio, My Mio* and *Rasmus and the Tramp*.
