A lecture on Polish history covering the period from the last partition to 1895, compiled by Stanisław Tarnowski (1837–1917), historian, literary critic, professor and rector of the Jagiellonian University, and president of the Academy of Learning in Kraków. Contemporary binding stylized to resemble an older one: brown half-leather, six-panel spine, raised bands, gilded title and publication date in three panels, with colored floral ornamentation in the remaining panels, leather corners, and marbled endpapers. Outdated bookplate. Very good condition. A nice piece.
