On a flat circular base with gilded rocaillas, standing in counterpoint is Athena, goddess of wisdom, art and just war. Wearing antique robes and drapery draped over her left shoulder, she is wearing a short scaly breastplate with Medusa, a helmet topped with an owl and an olive branch in her left hand. With his right hand he supports an oval shield - an aegis - leaning against the base, facing inward.
The signature refers to the Viennese brand.
