Pellegrini married the prominent Carrara sculptor Ferdinando Pelliccia (Carrara 1808-1892), known and appreciated by the Este family and director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, on April 26, 1835.
Anna Micheli was a writer, poet and dabbled, from an early age, as a painter and embroiderer. In the latter field she excelled; in fact, works made before she came of age have come down to us consisting of embroideries on silk of still lifes, some of which also excelled years ago at auction. Even in this work made at a very young age she demonstrates a great mastery of painting technique in portraying the nobleman Bernardo, her father, sitting under a tree and intent on reading a paper.
On the back is the inscription "Bernardo Michele Pellegrini painted by his daughter Anna in 1826."
