19th Century - French Empirical Officer's Sabre of the Napoleonic Period.

An officer's saber from the Napoleonic era, most likely intended for a senior officer. The handle is richly decorated, with a distinctive lion-headed bail, clearly indicating inspiration from classical Empire patterns. The shaft of the handle made of black ebony. The medallion centrally located on the handle bears engraved initials, probably those of the owner or formation commander.
The saber's head is slightly curved, single-edged, with a subtle armor running along its length, indicating a combat but also ceremonial purpose. Plant ornaments and military engravings on the base of the blade. The entire piece was made with exceptional attention to detail, with the typical combination of functionality and aesthetics of the period.
