Henryk Tadeusz Piatkowski alias "Grzmot", "Blyskawica" (1902-1969) - Polish certified infantry colonel, brigadier general in exile, knight of the Order of Virtuti Militari. He fought in the defense of Lviv (1918), participated in the Polish-Bolshevik war, was a Polish champion in athletics. During the May Coup (1926) he sided with the government. He took part in the September campaign, interned in Romania, later served in the Independent Carpathian Rifle Brigade and the 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division, fought at Monte Cassino and Ancona. After the war he remained in exile, and in 1964 was appointed brigadier general by General Wladyslaw Anders. Died in Penley, buried in London.
