Oskar ZIETA (b. 1975), Chair

Own technique, steel; 80 x 46 x 58 cm;

Designer, architect. In his works he combines design and artistic qualities with modern technology. He created one of the most modern steel processing technologies, FIDU (Freie Innendruck Umformung - internal pressure forming), which has been awarded numerous prizes including the Red Dot Design Award 2008, Schweizer Design Preis 2008, German Design Council Award 2009 and Audi Mentor Prize 2011.
His designs interweave technology, material science, engineering and art.
His designs have been exhibited in the collections of Cardi Black Box Gallery in Milan, Stilwerk Limited Editions Gallery in Hamburg, Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich, Badisches Landmuseum in Karlsruhe and also at festivals: London Design Festival 2010, Vienna Design Week 2011. Winner of numerous awards including Materialica 2009, Good Design 2009, DMY 2008 for Manufacturing Process Innovation 2008 and YDMI 2008. Scholarship recipient of the ETH Institute of Technology in Zurich.
