In a large casino with tall columns and magnificent crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, an oversized roulette table, around which numerous elegantly dressed men and women are standing, and in some cases sitting, to try their luck at a game. Depiction rich in figures in restrained colors.

Annotation:
Maurice Brianchon's artistic career began in 1917 at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. There he met Raymond Legeult and Roland Oudot, with whom he formed the group "Peintres de la Réalité Poétique". In 1927, he had his first solo exhibition at the Galerie Portique in Paris. This then led to two exhibitions at the prestigious Galerie Marcel Bernheim in 1930 and 1932. In addition to painting, Brianchon was also involved in designing decorations for opera and ballet in the 1930s. In 1949, he was appointed Chef d'Atelier at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts. Brianchon was one of the most influential painters at the École at that time and was probably the only true successor in France to the intimists Bonnard and Vuillard. (1411023) (18)
