Bricco della Bigotta is based on the fruit of the barbera varietal, whose vines grow in the municipality of Rocchetta Tanaro. The producer named his wine after a neighbor, an elderly, pious woman who valued principles above freedom of spirit in her life. Braida combines both principles (the wine meets all the standards imposed by the prestigious Barbera d'Asti DOCG appellation) and free spirit in this wine, as the wine gets as much time to achieve balance and beautiful expression as it needs. The 2014 vintage shows a perfectly mature Barbera today, and the more often we deal with such a Barbera, the more inclined we are to admit that this is the kind of Barbera we like best.
