About the Artist:
Polish painter originally from Walbrzych (Lower Silesia). From childhood to the present he has been connected with his city and creating there. His work can be inscribed in the trend of surrealism. Krzysztof became interested in art as a child, but it was only under the influence of his father, who also created, that he began to develop his talent. For many years he painted paintings as a hobby, and it wasn't until 2013 that he decided to show them in his first exhibitions. In a short time he was appreciated by art buyers and collectors enough to take up his art professionally. Despite having no artistic training, he was accepted into the Association of Visual Artists in March 2015.

The style and technique in which Krzysztof Heksel currently paints has matured over years of trials and experiments with various painting materials and substrates. His paintings are created on panels, painted in oils, a demanding technique of lasering - which best conveys the depth and color effects of the worlds the author depicts. The themes of the works mainly revolve around entropy, transience, death, daydreams. It may evoke extreme feelings in viewers, but it is not as dark as it might initially seem. The artist is inspired by the world around him and his interests: space, astronomy, philosophy and the broader search for the meaning of existence. The artist does not title his works. He does not want to impose on viewers the way to interpret them. However, he still does not stop trying to improve his painting technique. In this respect, as he says himself: "he strives for perfection, which he does not want to achieve," because he is interested in the development process itself.

He takes inspiration from Zdzislaw Beksinski, Ivan Aivazovsky, William Turner and Alexander Gierymski. He has been compared to Beksinski by many. In a televised interview with Fakty TVP Wrocław, Piotr Pawlicki described Krzysztof Heksel's works as not copying, but an extension of Beksiński's work. He described him as a continuator of what Beksinski created.
